Fairfield Podiatry Circuit Breaker Restrictions Update

As the Victorian Government considers podiatry an essential health service, we will remain open while the circuit breaker restrictions are in place.

We are allowed to continue providing essential clinical care via face-to-face consultations to people that would be worse off if they had to wait until the circuit breaker restrictions end.

Below are some examples of the people and problems that are likely to be suitable for face-to-face consultations:

  • People that have a medical condition that has the potential to cause foot complications (e.g. diabetes, lymphoedema, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis)

  • People that have reduced circulation or significant swelling

  • People that have reduced sensation

  • People that have an ulcer or have a history of ulceration

  • Essential workers that are experiencing foot pain that is affecting their ability to work

  • Painful and infected ingrown toenails

  • A toenail or skin problem that is causing significant pain

  • Fractured bones

  • Severe pain, swelling and difficulty weight-bearing after an injury (e.g. ankle sprain)

  • Significant foot and leg pain that is making it difficult to complete activities of daily living and exercise

  • Assistance with surgery recovery and rehabilitation

  • Removal of foreign bodies (e.g. a piece of glass)

If you have an appointment between now and Thursday 10th June, you can presume that you're eligible for face-to-face consultations during the circuit breaker restrictions if you don't hear from your podiatrist.

If you would prefer to postpone your appointment, you can do so by calling 9481 0639.

If you feel like you need our help during this period and don't already have an appointment, please call 9481 0639, and our friendly reception team will do their best to assist you.

Your next appointment

  • If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please postpone your appointment, get tested and isolate.

  • You can use the SMS reminder you receive as proof of your appointment.

  • At this stage, you can wait inside the clinic. Please don’t arrive earlier than necessary. You are welcome to wait in your car if you’d prefer. Just let us know when you arrive.

  • Please wear a mask to your appointment and sanitise your hands when you arrive and before leaving.

We will continue doing everything we can to ensure that your visit is as safe and enjoyable as possible.

We would appreciate you liking our Facebook page to keep up to date with the latest news.

Thank you for your understanding, patience and support. We really appreciate it!

Regards,

Shaun, George and the Fairfield Podiatry team
